Doors at 7:30, Music at 8. Donation. BYOB. Lykanthea is the project of Lakshmi Ramgopal, an ambient musician from Chicago, IL whose debut EP Migration arrived last year to praise in Impose, MTV Iggy and Noisey. With lyrics rooted in ancient mythologies, a haunting voice smoked in cave-like reverb and the gauzy drone of synths, Lykanthea's sound is ritual chanting for the electronic age. Stalebirth is the influential improv noise project begun in 2011 by Ambrosia Bartosekulva in Seattle, WA and has included many short and long term contributors. Her current solo incarnation is reminiscent of the nightmarish creatures hidden in the swamp like rainforest of the Pacific Northwest, birthed from the belly of the beast, and drooling to eat your dreams. Soundscapes, voices, chants, trinkets, spells. Rasplyn is the solo project of Carolyn O’Neill who uses her experience with classical composition and as a psychic reader & healer to create mystical and visual landscapes with her music. Her style is dark and cinematic, beautifully filled with textured layers influenced by world culture and mysterious natural forces. Her compositions bear moments of writhing intensity and flowing release bathed in haunting vocals. Her debut album ‘Scenes Through the Magic Eye’ was released via Mythical Records on Nov. 30th, 2014.
