Doors 7pm, Music 8pm, $8 21+ Part space odyssey, part Ghost World, Ganser is a Chicago-based trio that embrace post-punk, early industrial, and weird vacuum noises. Formed as a DIY duo consisting of bassist Alicia G and keyboardist Nadia G, utilizing dual vocals, they are joined by drummer/guitarist Maxwell G for their EP "Less." The trio incorporates driving bass and drums with spacious guitars and swelling backing synths, they make bright black music for deep space transmissions and panic attacks. http://ganser.bandcamp.com/ Rasplyn is the solo project of Carolyn O’Neill who uses her experience with classical composition and as a psychic reader & healer to create mystical and visual landscapes with her music. Her style is dark and cinematic, beautifully filled with textured layers influenced by world culture and mysterious natural forces. Her compositions bear moments of writhing intensity and flowing release bathed in haunting vocals. Her debut album ‘Scenes Through the Magic Eye’ was released via Mythical Records on Nov. 30th, 2014. http://mythicalrecords.bandcamp.com/album/scenes-through-the-magic-eye Matchess is the solo work of Whitney Johnson (who also plays in the excellent Verma and Disappears’ sideproject, E+), Chicago resident and general sorceress. Johnson’s voice is like a hammer that won’t stop. Over the top of a bed of minimal rhythms, synthetic melodies, and guitar squalls, her vocals spin out of control like an ancient spiral circling toward the cosmos. I imagine some future civilization unearthing her music in 1000 years and holding it as a sacred relic. Her album ‘Seraphastra’ is timeless, bizarre, and absolutely wonderful. http://digitalisrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/seraphastra cinchel is a Chicago based musician working with guitar, effects and laptop to create abstract ambient music that is both minimal and dense. His main focus has been the interaction of sounds/notes with themselves. With only the use of delay, layering and distortion Cinchel attempts to make a lot of guitars no longer sound like guitars. This is minimal dense music for that reason. Cinchel's album 'A House Once Lived that Never Was' was recently named one of the 10 Ten Ambient albums of 2014 by A Closer Listen. http://cinchel.bandcamp.com/
